Title: DOWN IN THE HOLLER
Dimension: 10 X 13
Allow digital alterations?: Yes!
This is a fairly bright painting but not as bright as it is showing on my monitor. The camera exploded the blue horribly and try as I might I can not take it down in the photo without making the yellow out of control... specially the blue trees on the left.. take them down about half in intensity.
MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
Any suggestions/comments are welcome.

It is quietly and simply beautiful, peaceful and yet contains that wee waft of movement in the mist and the tree tops. In saying that I have done as you say about the overdone blues. I think that also must steal some of the reds. Beautiful.

It's the bomb, Christine. A lesson on how to use muted colors to dramatic effect. Great primary and secodary centers of interest. I love the composition which is superficially a bunch of trees but is in fact, quite sophisticated to my eyes.

I like it very much. Reminds me of walking up a hill to an area much like this is my yesteryears and finding a newborn, wobbly-legged white faced calf standing in the shadows. our painting has the same aura, nostalgic for me, beautiful for anybody.

Aires... that is interesting as I thought about putting a cow in there but then decided it would be too much. I am glad it brought back memories for you.. that's the best compliment!

Christine, you have done it this time. So simple and yet so beautiful. It deserves a larger format, but don't throw this one away. I love the colors and how you have used them.

Phil.. thank you. Isn't it interesting, at least for me anyway, that I decide to do something small and if it turns out yucky no big loss but then if it turns out good I wish I had done it larger. Guess it is all the chances we take and smile when we are finished. Glad you like it.
Kathleen a double thank you for posting on facebook and here. :)

Even when the colours the picture is showing aren't as in reality, a very convincing piece of work. No crits, only admiration..

Wow CW, excellent.

Thank you Coen1, Tony and Deb. I so glad this is finding favor with you all.
I tried to get a better photo of this but don't think I succeeded. I did add a few indications of trees in the background as a couple people thought that was sky back there and not the distant ridges.
