I'm not sure about sales slips. What should be on them? I have a pretty good idea about it. Does anyone know where there are some sample ones that I could look at? I'm sure that there must be some good software programs out there that would produce the proper forms for artists. Thanks in advance.

I purchase my sales slips from the local Office Depot. They come in all sizes, but I like the ones large enough to write the customers name and address, phone #...(for my mailing list)

You want space to provide the description of the item they are purchasing (this will help with your inventory later), the price, subtotal line, taxes to add or other costs, and a total line.

And get the type that has a duplicate! so you can give the buyer a copy and you keep a copy! This is better for your tax files, too.

I usually note how a customer pays on the receipt also...example...CK #0000 or VISA or CASH. (If they pay with a check and it has the current address info...I don't write that on the receipt at time of purchase. I will do that later for record keeping)

I meant to add...that you can make up a little stamp with your name, phone #, website url, address...and print that on your receipts ahead of time...or just staple a business card to each one as you use it.

Good advice, Carly....thanks.

Do you also write on there somewhere that all rights of reproduction remain with you?

This site has a copy of a sample sales slip. I'm not sure if they allow you to copy it ,but it should give you a good idea for making your own.
