GENERAL INFORMATION:

Year Created:
Medium: Oil
Surface: Canvas
Dimension: 16 x 12 inches
Allow digital alterations?: Yes!

MY COMMENTS:
Painted as a gift for a friend. Oil paints with beeswax medium. That is stand oil, damar resin, turps and beeswax. I like it because there are no fumes, that I can smell anyway.

The small photo loses detail and it looks more scruffy that the actual painting. This painting is a long way away now.

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
I am once again looking for new directions, although this one seems a bit run of the mill.

Good composition, love the texture. I'm thinking with this sort of work, a few darks in the foreground would help create depth.

Right, especially in the left foreground.

I like the 'foggyness' of it. Nice atmosphere. I do agree adding dark tones on the foreground, will work well.

Mickey, that tree in the forground on the left needs some better definition. As it is, it looks like nothing other than a large dark mass. Other than that, you have a very nice painting. Painting small doesn't require as much information as you would need in a large painting, but you still need some.

Thanks for looking Phil. You are right, in fact the person who I did the painting for asked actually asked for more detail in the foreground, but I wasn't able to do it with the knife and beeswax medium.
