Here's some shots of another of my favourite bridges - the Golden Gate.
I'd be interested in what you all think of this composition. I think there's a nice symmetry in the top half of the image, but it's perhaps unbalanced in the bottom half.
Would the photos be better separated?

I would love to see this larger. It is a bit hard to see the detail at this size.

Like Cathy, I'd have liked to have seen a larger image. I don't think you need to seperate the pictures, but I think I'd have tried to reverse the first and last one in someway, so that they both pointed upwards towards the middle. Like a bridge shape. Does that make sense? Is it possible to do? Am I completely on the wrong track?
Kate.

I absolutely positively adore the Golden Gate bridge. I collect pictures, paintings, drawings of it.
I would like to see these bigger but from what I can see they look pretty good to me.

Yeah, sorry about the rather small scale. Isn't there a limit on the size of images posted on the forums? I thought it couldn't exceed 500 pixels?
Maybe I can post a larger image as an attachment? If not I'll post up a couple of close-ups tonight after work.
Kate - I think I know what you mean, I could swap the order of the two end photos, so the supports are more central and the decks lead out of the frame. I toyed with the idea last night but was far too tired to try it out. I'll give that a go tonight too.

I think the first image would look fantastic on it's but I love to see it larger.

Kate said exactly what I was thinking about the collage and whether it worked or not. Reversing the two outside photos will make the whole composition hold togeter much better. As it is now my eye keeps going off the paper to the right.
Each photo is very strong on its own and could stand alone. The collage for a golden gate lover is a good idea.
Nice work and post the changes if you decide to do them.

Yep! I'd reverse the outer shots, too. And I'm going to agree that I also like to see larger shots (Old eyes, ya know. ;) )
I do believe that attachment allows larger images than the uploader. And the image size limits are 500 pixels wide, 600 pixels high. I haven't looked lately, but I think the image file size limit is 100k.
Oh...nearly forgot!
:D

Hmmm, I like the idea of a Golden Gate tryptic but I suspect these aren't the right three shots to use - the angles don't quite work. I guess I'll just have to head back to SF and take some more :)

Wow, fast reply Alan!
The shot was taken on my first day in SF. A friend had kindly offered to drive my wife and I around the city, show us the sites and all that. It was a gloriously sunny day but as we neared the bridge we started noticing patches of fog. Now, I'd heard about the famous SF fog but being from the UK I thought I knew all about the stuff. I tell you though, I'd never seen fog like this - huge banks of the stuff rolling over the hills, swamping the bridge and rolling out over the bay. And it moved at such a speed!
It's a day I'll never forget. I'm just glad I got a couple of nice images of it for when my mind becomes foggy :)
Paul, I'm going to go against the grain here ... just as I preferred the not-so-saturated version of your yellow cab, again I find myself disagreeing with what others are suggesting: I prefer the three the original way you had them ... Maybe my eyes are wonky or something  :D Iconic images!
