I like these little paintings a lot

I like the clouds. The composition seems a little centered to me. And its fairly flat. Maybe moving the ship forward would add depth.

Little painting? Andrew doesn't realize that this is a stupendous size for you. Anyhow, the cloud is stupendously wonderful. The sea is not reading right for me. I don't get the horizontal white lines and the yellow green patch to the right. This "confusion" than infects the boat by not grounding it in water so, I think that if the sea worked, the boat would work.

I like this one.. I think the yellow green patch is background hill??

I like it a lot but I don't like that cloud that looks like it is sitting on the water instead of being in the sky. I also would have like to see the boat on the lower right sailing into the picture.

I like the cloud, very Turneresque, I think I invented a word there.
It is a boat by the way, not a ship

Nice one SB, and a great start to a series (both of them). Really liking the splash of red on the sail.

Spidie! - been a while - and love the colors, esp the clouds. TG's correct about the comments. Think you would like this artist as I think you have similar styles:

Lunchbox- Thanks for the link! I love the palette she uses.
Thanks everyone.. the white lines are his wake and the green a point of land. Phil, I think he's tacking .. anytime someone uses the term "Turneresque" its a good day for me!

This one's spreading a nice atmosphere. Both water and air could be less blue to me. But the image certainly holds!
