I found a nice spot today behind a church! I tried something I've seen some others doing--bright underpainting & let it show through a bit here & there. I think it adds something.

11x14, canvas panel, acrylics.

C&C welcome! Does the triangle edge of the field bother you? I didn't notice it til i looked at the shot from my phone. Isn't it odd how it's so easy to miss things like that?

The grassy edges of the triangle do pop out a bit with the darks behind the yellows. It might be the relative uniformity of the yellows contributing to that effect. Darkening the right triangle leg's grass as it recedes (and also the farthest reaches of the plowed field) may help that mid-right area lie down a bit flatter? Just a thought.

Its nice - maybe a gape in the wall of trees will make a inviting gate

You might soften the point on the triangle, but I'd be more inclined to remove those foreground dashes of bright colors. I really like that dirt road as is with all its curvy lines and movement.

Hmmm, it's actually a plowed/planted field w/ little plants just coming up--which is the little dashes of color! LOLOL--guess I didn't do too well w that part! ;)

This has a very niceenergyhappening
.

Maybe jus take away the point of triangle- soften it add a shadow- then bring something in on right to stop viewer from leaving the scene.

But you may know more.

Thank you everyone for your helpful comments! I think I'll tweak this one in the studio a bit.
