MY COMMENTS:
I am creating a series on animal studies. I have completed an elephant and rhinoceros. I will start on a giraffe this week.

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
I started taking classes two years ago and would like feedback from a wider audience.

An Indian or a Javanese Rhino?
I like the loose nature of your brushwork
Thank you for sharing

I like this very much! Welcome to WC ! I like your use of light and shade, and as Andrew said, your loose brushwork is enviable!!! Cheers. Debs. =))

Thank you! I painted him after an Indian Rhino at the Fort Worth Zoo.

I like the composition. Feels like someone is trapped while making a photograph of this rhino and now better gets out of there! The loose brushwork (according to Debzy) works well indeed. Yet I could imagine somewhat smaller brushstrokes (but still as loose) in the background, because it now has the effect of making your rhino look smaller. I hope I make myself clear.
I love the light - shadow work of your painting.

Thank you. That makes a lot of sense. I try that.

Brushwork and likeness are fine. I do think the creature is too close to the left edge.

ooo, he's marvelous and powerful
the mouth area is a bit confusing
love the colors, painterly strokes, agree smaller in the background would be good.
