Dimension: 16 x 16
Allow digital alterations?: Yes!
what was 'oopsies'
is now a seascape with a boat
(inspired by spyders wee one)
thanks to those who commented on http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1131282 'oopsies' - i'll be trying that one again later
MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
anything, it's knifed and then softened in some spots with a brush
The boat is in just the right place. Your style is free and consistent throughout. Love the kind of impending storm look to this. I am reminded of Albert Pinkham Ryder's boats. But brighter and more colorful.
I like it! derek

Wind effect is great... I can the sea sickness.. nicely done..
thanks again guys, sky's and seas are fun and quick with a knife ... compositions are trickier, thanks again to spyderbabe for the guide there, a very nice simple elegance, glad it works ... i find the sky a little choppy, haggard, severe even, but it does create an extra edge of drama to the story, enough to balance it, i dunno, digital form does accentuate that some.

snooze. Sorry, but I know your work. Nice punchy colors, but typical colors - nearly primary red, yellow and blue, combined with a scene of a boat on water - been done a trillion times. La, hope you don't mind and I am not too harsh. It is a nice painting, but IMO, not unique or interesting.

An engaging piece. Some crits, though. Not sure why boat is placed quite so far left--maybe a little more centred, as it's the star of the show? The colours look it bit arbitrary and nonsensical to me--just kind of stuck in to spruce the piece up. And I would have been a bit more precise with the drawing/detailing of the boat and sail. To paint them in the loose style of the waves looks a little too facile and lacking in finish. Nice change for you, though!
allis, yes, agreed it doesn't have my usual weird, been a little tapped out of weird that works for me these days ... appreciate your honesty! thanks = )
allan, i pondered the placement of that boat, deciding the back curving sweep of sail to be best as the coi, in hopes of it sweeping the viewer back around the sky ... perhaps too far if it has the opposite effect of sucking one out of the piece ... haha, detail will be the death of me i'm sure, lol Thanks much for your thoughts = )

I love the colors here. I think its almost abstract. Looks like it was fun to paint. Nice work La.
