Hi Janet and Jacqui

I, too, had never heard of the last three illustrators...but they were actually quite well known in their day. Nice to bring them back so we can enjoy their work.

I posted Ivan Bilibin fast Jacqui because after I found him I collected bits and pieces over last month. Hope you like his work. Check out the video...it has a lot of his costume and set designing work.

Hi, Tyree, Inkyness and Mindbender. I, too, think he is a very nice illustrator, and for some reason have become fixated on the little mushrooms he seems to have in a lot of his paintings.
Hope you all can do one or two drawings. Always enjoy your work.

Very nice, June. Catches the mood so well and I love that dog. The patterns are so nice in his costumes...I'm thinking of a three kings Christmas card this year....stealing some of Mr. Bilibin's poses and prints. Shameless!

Here is some kind of wicked creature from"Rusalka":

I love the ink drawing Janet. She does look scary as Tyree says. What's the story?

Rusalka was some sort of banshee, who danced in the moonlight, and lured men to their deaths beneath the water. Here is wikipedia with the whole story and the original picture.

Very interesting. Especially the part about there being a festival or Rusalka week when people were fobidden to go swimming in case the rusalkas lured them to their death.

Tyree, the color is just beautiful. What kind of colored pens are you using? This illustration was one of my favorites and your rendition is great.

Have to look for a Bilibin illustrated book...some library must have one, or maybe Amazon.
