Good tip, Doug.

On a related note, we'll be featuring a new series of articles soon. The articles will be written by a top-rated art attorney out of New York - we're trying to line up some chats as well.

Cheers.

Great! Maybe he can post his rates for struggling artists, too! http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif

Both site's were very helpful but I still don't understand one thing. When you sell a painting does the artist still own the rights to the image or the owner of the painting? Or maybe another way of putting it is if you sell your painting can you still make prints of it to be sold?

When you sell a painting the customer is only buying the painting. You still have all rights to the image! It is a good idea to have the customer sign a small contract, so that there is no misunderstanding about this issue.
