Well since my camera has gone to the hospital, I've had the opportunity to dig into the folders to see what I can salvage.

Since there is a great love for GBH's here, I'd thought I'd share a few more.

Woah.... those are excellent, Ozzie! I love seeing the feathers on it's back while it's in flight. That's a wonderful perspective.

Is the Nikon going to Melville Hospital? I'm sorry to hear that... :crying: I hope it goes well.

Great idea - just send 'em all over :D

Cool shots Ozzie. I like the top one best. He's making that flying thing look so easy.

Very nice shots. I particularly like that second one. If you are in a generous mood, you might consider contributing it to the WC reference library, because it sure likes it would make a great drawing.

Thanks Anne, yes the Melville Hospital. Needed the latest firmware upgrade and a little tweaking...........ben a bit rough with it lately.

Alan, you wouldn't be a Canon loyalist would ya? :p I liked the flying one the best, however as you can see, there were some items that I couldn't evade from jumping into the frame while he was flying and thus, detract greatly.....that one was a close crop.

Ray, the image has been posted to the reference library per your request. You can see a little more, no actually lot more feather detail in the bigger photo.

:D :D :D

Thanks, Ozzie! Man, that detail is really something in the larger version. Now, if only you could have gotten his legs in, too. :D

Now Ray, I can't imaging why you'd want those skinny things in the photo. They don't add anything to it when you have such wonderful feather detail :D Believe it or not, that is the way I shot that image, intentionally to fill the frame with the body of the bird only. Anyhow, since you wanted one with legs, I posted two more for you in the ref library complete with standing twigs.
:p

I love 'em both but the feathering on the back while flying isn't one you get to see frequently! Sorry bout the camera maybe it'll be back quickly!

Obviously you know I was just funnin' ya! :) The extra two shots are great, too. I am sure that some WCer is gonna use one (or more) of them for reference. Heck, might even be me! Thanks again.

No Ray I didn't, but thanks for telling me ;) In other forums I've been bashed for the same thing which doesn't stop me. I'm a closeup freak, not macro, but love seeing the texture and detail of birds feathers and critters fur/skin.

Hey, this was just an excuse for me to put up some more of my images. Sure hope somebody does use em'.

Called the hospital today to check on my baby and they said it would be fixed under warranty and back within 7 days :)

Just in time for vacation.

Ozzie...I absolutely LOVE that first shot! When we're at the river I get to SEE a LOT of Herons, and they're *usually* flying away from me. :D But, alas, I don't *usually* have my camera ready. ;)

Now, once I read Geck's reply...somehow I just *knew* that Alan woudn't be far behind. :D :D :D (Remind me to be VERY careful if I ever have to send a camera to the "Melville Hopsbittle!" ;)

P.S. Thanks for sharing these images in the Ref Lib, Ozzie! I was thinking the first one would make a fantastic manipulation done in oil painting style.

Thanks Julie, Sherloc and Kate. Had forgotten about the library, been awhile since we actively participated here.

Kate, please do share what you've done with the images if you please. I'd love to see em.

Hi Ozzie,
This is my first attempt at manipulating one of your glorious heron photos. Hope you like it, I had a wonderful time manipulating! :D
