View Full Version : Lucas - about to go to competition

"Lucas" is an oval oil on canvas painting. It still needs work on the hair and will have blades of grass in front. I will be putting this into a competition so I am hoping to get some critiques and suggestions here before it is done. Thanks in advance

Hi! Thanks for commenting on my question about commission pricing. YOu are wonderful with the fleshtones. Really captured the personality of the child. I see you have not posted since 2011. Would be great to see more of your work. Do you have a website?

Thank you for the kind words Mitch. I have since worked a little more on his shirt and hoping it has more movement now. I have posted in 2012, don't know why it is showing 2011. I am just getting started on my website so there isn't much there yet, and I still have to get the domain name registered, right now it is at www.inthewindcreations.weebly.com (http://www.inthewindcreations.weebly.com) I appreciate your interest. This site (wetcanvas) is so wonderful for me because I'm in a small town and very isolated. It is wonderful to have people here to bounce things off of.

Lucas makes your viewers want to smile with him. To me, I get the feel of a 1940's era piece and it's lovely and extremely well done. Good luck and please let us know how it does in competition.

Thank you so much Andrew. I still haven't heard if it was accepted into the competition yet, they said they would let me know early June. The waiting is killing me lol

Well, to all of you out there, thanks for your interest. Unfortunately it was not picked to be in the Illinois State Fair competition. Thanks for your support though.
