Here are my beads from my 2 day class with Sharon Peters and Janice Peacock. The only one missing is a lovely red vessel with nice handles, I have to unpack it. I'll post it later though. The fish, sculptural heads, surface froggie, lizard wrap and hollows are things Sharon taught. The missing vessel with enamels and reduction frit, squat vessel with silver, and encased bathroom sink beads are things that Janice taught. I loved the vessel not yet posted, and I changed the surface frog and lily pond bead into a beehive, floral vine, bumble bee thing myself, to see if I could take the technique she taught and make it more my own thing instead of just a copy of her work, which I love but everyone recognizes as Sharon's. I just stunk at the encased kitchen sink beads, wonkified them all!!! I left the neck off the squat vessel, and I just knew I had not done something right when I finished it. The sample was already in the kiln and I couldn't peek to refresh my memory. I forgot to turn the lizard's head the other way, so he looks more like a snake with legs. So here is my hodge podge of work, some is quite laughable, I know, but they are just to remind me of what to do and not do!

The class was wonderful and I highly recommend anyone with the chance take it next year!

Hi again,
the kitchen sink beads, lol, sorry I didn't explain. Yes, everything but the kitchen sink is in those. Murrini, dichro, silver foil, latticino, gold aventurine stringer, it is a lot of stuff and all encased. I burned the dichro right out of the first one, so just a hazy patch where some nice shimmer should be, but I didn't put that one in the picture. It was great fun, all of it though, and even though I took this class last year, I learned so much more since I am at a totally different place with my bead making skills this year.

Thanks for being so kind, some are really pathetic!

COOOOOOOL beads, Maria! You got a lot of great pieces to take home from that class- and is your hair wrap still in? :D Wish I could have seen that finished :D Y'all gotta know that Maria is a gorgeous lady with the PRETTIEST hair, and she was sitting to get a hair wrap with her own special beads the last time we saw her :)

My kitchen sink beads *do* go down the sink, Ginny...lol... reduced to frit in my water glass, then into the disposal they go to be powdered... lol
