Found some time for my Sunday sketching session today. Went back to the local swamp.

When I got there I found I only had a ballpoint pen and a calligraphy pen, not my usual ones I use for sketching. I felt a bit rusty, but tomorrow is a public holiday, so I might get back there again for more practice.;)

#1 Ballpoint pen

#2 hybrid mix of my two pens:)

Sometimes we have to use the tools at hand. I keep a little leather pouch where I keep a couple of drawing pencils, a sharpener, eraser, and at least one good pen that I make sure is full of ink all the time.

I'm glad to see you getting out again too. I enjoy your plein air sketches. Swamps have a lot of interesting things to draw. I love the cypress trees we have in swamps here. They grow in some strange patterns with these huge roots sticking out. I don't know if you have alligators there, but that is one thing we have to keep an eye open for as well as cotton mouth water snakes that are very aggressive.

Well, once again this proves the point, it ain't the pen, it's the hand holding it. :) Nice sketches, Chris.

Time? What's that?

Thanks Ray and Eamon, for more encouragement. (Some may say I shouldn't be encouraged!;))
