I saw this lavender iris patch about 1/4 mile down the road from the farm so went back for some pictures this afternoon.

i agree holy crap was my first thought too. Im a suck for flowers and these are absolutley stunning, 2nd was my fav too but love them all..... Are these normal photos... now do u get such close up details? Me thinks i will be coming here more often ;)

Thank you everyone!! I never thought I would be a flower (oh my gosh- the f word!) adict for photography, but the fun of macro photography changed my mind :) Petdevils you will find several of us here in the darkroom that enjoy macro photography. Most of us are shooting Nikons for it, as they absolutley are the best for this type of photography. I bought my nikon specifically for macro photography, since my olympus is not so great in that area and I wanted to play more in that area. LOL- honestly I've only taken about 50 "normal" photos with the nikon and about 2000 macros :)

I have to thank Geck for introducing me to the alure of amazing macros and also for helping me when choosing a camera and learning how to use it :D
