Hey Sunny,

Here's the closeup that you didn't get.

The background was completely white and washed out, but the exposure of his face was anything but. I took the liberty of adding some color to the background. A little levels control and a tad of saturation.

I too can't get enough of these guys. What I like about this one is that he doesn't look so tattered, some of their beaks really look rough.

Ozzie-what camera are you using and what does the VR after the lens mean?

Sunny I'm using the Nikon DSLR D100 that I bought last August. The VR stands for Vibration Resistance/reduction...something like that. It has a built in system to help you reduce the effects of movement when shooting, supposedly allowing you to shoot 3 stops slower and still have crisp images over a lens without it. Canon also has a similar lens system, perhaps they were the 1st to come up with this technology.

All I know is I love the 80-400, especially the power of the 400!! Allows me to get shots of skittish critters from afar.
