Well its about time the parties ended & you got back to work! Diggin' this. Bold, meaningfull, expressive strokes.

But you might want to check it out and do a little edit. On my monitor, there are few stray strokes appearing beneath her hand which, ahem, confuse the issue a bit.

hi, wire. - thanks for your thoughts. yes, it seems there is something dark and maybe a little reluctant about her pregnancy. i hope you do try oils; they are fabulous.

somerset - haha! yes, parties are over ;) thanks for looking/liking. hehhee...i see what you mean - it's really not that confusing irl, but maybe i'll have to clean it up a bit :D

I've always loved to follow your work which led me to this one. I have been on a drawing kick lately and have neglected my friends in this forum (sorry). This is simply beautiful! I have stared at it for 15 minutes and I can't explain it but it touches me in a way words can't describe... almost spiritual in feeling. The simplicity in line, form and palette add so much to this work... a true work of art!

PS Thanks for including the detailed shot... love the brush strokes!

i really like the way you've rendered her. i don't know if it was intended, but i see the fatigue that goes along with pregnancy combined with nurturing. the hints of color underneath the figure are quite intriguing. the only critique i have is i would have expected bigger, fuller looking breasts on a heavily pregnant woman. i wouldn't bother changing it, but would consider it if you do another one. i would love to see a pregnant series from you.
