Love the colour...I wouldn't mind being there. A serene setting. Nice work.

Lovely work! I'm partial to purple hues, so I absolutely love the sky and water!! Question on the brightness? Is the original really that bright or is it just my pc monitor???

Hugh, great peice! I really like it. I do, however, find that my eyes tend to have a tough time breaking from the left side. I'm sure that the house is intended to be the focal point and the tree in the left hand foreground is certainly a grabber but i feel that the right might be a bit under rated. The composition is good, in fact i think it's VERY good, but i think adding some splashes of sun-lit highlights to the tree on the far right would pull this together. Please accept this thought in the spirit in which it is given, which is merely a personal opinion. Lovely peice! Really!

Hi, My kids where messing with the scanner and changed some settings just before I scanned this, with the result that this scan is too "sharp" if you know what I mean, could have also affected the brightness of it, the original is much softer than this. http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif

Thanks for your input Cheryl, I think your correct about the tree on the right needing a bit of sunlight, as for the left tree I hadn't intended for it to be so stand-outish as it is, because it does tend to compete with the house. http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif

Its the dark rigid values of the tree's trunk and limbs, and the distinct angular limb's lines that draw specific attention to the tree. IF it were a simple blocking in of foilage and were visually "less" demanding, it may have worked better.

You've got a lot going on in this piece, and that is always tough making it work. The piece though does catch my attention, and I look forward to seeing other works you do!
