Love your comp so far. As a former duck and goose hunter who spent many hours in the type of field you're depicting, it felt nostalgic to me although, where we hunted, you wouldn't see green in the grasses when the fowl are migrating. I would suggest rounding off the head of your duck a little more (unless my screen just isn't seeing it) and then darkening the green on it in some small areas for more definition. Also, you rarely see a single bird so it might make sense to add some very small birds flying high in the distance in the usual "V" pattern. It would then look like your single male was joining them. I'll be watching this one.

Love the addition of the female. Great idea. The birds in the distance look good, too. My only suggestion, for what it's worth at this point, is to make sure you put the frontal bone in your female's wings. She wouldn't have feathers fluffing forward in flight. Use your male as a reference.

I really like it now, and I love the colours and the grasses and landscape, very nicely done. It's a lovely nature scene and puts me off ever wanting to hunt!!! =)) Nice job. Cheers. Debs. =))
