has an aggressive very emotional feeling to it...yet the subject is one that elicits a place for contemplation and peace...has a strange and unique tension as a result.

You are doing quite well.
This has not the colour, but much the energy and some of the movement of our friend Van Gogh.
Were you somehow aware of that while making or finishing this piece?
I was rather impressed with the coloristic surprise you gave us with your first land/knife-scape, this one is totally different and it could be no good if it hadn't this vanGoghish energetic feel about it, but it has this feel and thus the power!
You are on your way Von. Do a few (that is a lot) more and I wouldn't be surprised if you'd change or combine careers.
