View Full Version : Project Discussion: Grab Bag
06-03-2003, 08:45 PM
A new project has been announced in the WetCanvas! project system!
Title: Grab Bag
Project Leader: sassybird
Relative Difficulty: Medium
Type Restrictions: Other
Medium: Any Medium
Subject: Not Applicable
Days open for signups: Always
Maximum participants allowed: Unlimited
Everyone has a grab bag where they keep those things they will find a use for sooner or later. This is a challenge! Go through your grab bag, and pick what you will to create either a base relief, or a 3D piece. It does not matter what you make, but let those creative juices flow. The only restriction is to use at least 1/4 of your work in fibers, material natural or man made.
For more information on the project: Click here! (http://www.wetcanvas.com//Community/Projects/browse_details.php?proj_id=449)
Remember, in order to help keep the discussions on projects organized, you should post your questions, suggestions, and comments on submitted work here in this thread. By doing this, we allow other non-project efforts to not get "pushed down" by a swarm of project-related threads.

Grrr. Two new mixed media projects on the same day and I don't have time for either one until the end of summer !
This sounds very interesting Sassybird. I'm sure you will have some fascinating entries. Have fun !!!

Don't worry, Li. Sign up is indefinite :D I sometimes do project pieces from a few years ago just because they tickle my fancy :D I'll look forward to seeing what you come up with when you do get around to it :)

Okay...I'm in...this sounds like a project right up my alley! I have so much "scrap material", in my sewing supply bin, that I'm sure I can scrounge up something to do a project with. This will be my first WC project so be gentle with me;)

I am excited about this project. My children ,altho, grown , have requested I get rid of my "Collections of natural and found objects" Living in Florida has given me a tremendous collection of shells and feathers and fossels , it should be a challenge to see what I can do with them. Karrol:cat:

I'm in, too! This is my first project and it seems perfect. I am also a packrat so it will be fun to get rid of the stuff in a more creative way.

This is sweet. I really like the simplicity of the shapes. You captured the sense of innocence. Nicely done.
I may actually have time for this project this winter. Anyone else still working at it ?

Thank you Li. I do hope you participate! I love your work! I'm surprised there aren't any other entries, yet, but do know how busy our lives can be...especially at this time of year!

Your welcome Polly and thanks as well. I esp. like when a piece is personal as yours was.
I think this project happened when many of us trying to eek out a living at art had a gazillion shows coming up. I don't do summer projects ! LOL.
One of the reasons I brought the project back up so new people to the forum could participate and because I thought your piece deserved recognition as the sole participant !

I will be adding something if it takes me the next millineum. LOL.

This is quite striking. The colors really work well together in this piece. It reminds me of how crazy life can be. I was beginning to think I was the lone participant in this project! Thanks for giving me some company, Gary. Well done.

Count me in too! I'm still getting my creative legs and a bit slower in producing work than my fellow wetcanvas artists, but this sounds like such an interesting challenge I just can't resist. I've always wanted to try an embellished art quilt so this is my chance.
