I found a place to buy an occasional decent cigar wood box in Green Bay, and recently got a nice one for about $6.....

I'd like to build and convert it to a small pochade box for trips inconvenient to carry my El Greco French easel, and it will require replacing the cheap hinges on it will decent ones...and getting a locking bracket mechanism of some type to hold they lid up and in place securely when the lid is open.

Wondering if anyone knows of some online sites where hardware, perhaps crafters... go to buy such things. Remember...I'm isolated in a national forest..so, its not like running to my local have everything store. Thanks...!!

Thanks Dianne...I was beginning to think my lack of response was-

a- no one knew what a pochade box was

b- no one knew where to look for hardware

c- no one could figure out from my subject title that "hardward" was a misspelling for hardware!

thanks again....'nuff to keep me busy!
