this is a very striking piece. i'm tying to pick out where you've used acrylics and where you used pencil. are the spots interference acrylics? if not, you have managed an amazing effect with colored pencil! it's a wonderful mixed media piece.

Ok, I adore the colors in this, the searing heat of the red/orange...
Is there any chance of a close up of the irridescent area (the bits that look like oil on water)???
I'd love to see that close up, it looks so complex...

That burnt orange is terrific. It's great to see how you use color to integrate. Yah color!

kali's right - searing is the word. the last remnants of city, street are lost in the lava, taken by that molten flow.
