A friend and I have been considering starting a portrait service out of her home. She's the more photo-knowlegeable of the two of us, and has a Nikon and a digital (I don't remember the name on the digital, but I do recall that her dad bought it for her for around $500). She's thinking of using the digital to take the portraits, and printing them herself on photo-quality paper for cost reasons. (The printer is HP, not sure which model, but professional-use & sells for around $900.)
Seems like we'd be better off using the Nikon, but then, as I've said, I'm not the most knowlegeable person in this area. Any thoughts or comments on this?
