View Full Version : Moroon Leather Recliner Chair

One of my first more serious p&i studies, took a while, technique isn't great and i somehow managed to add another non existent arm to the upper right of the chair which is bizarre and throws it outta wack...lol... so im happiest with the left half of the image for that reason...... freehand, no pencil lines etc........ if i did pen over pencil.. would i be unable to rub it out after and would it show thru as silver..eg not good? comments/critcs etc thanks.
pen - A5 size

Don't think there's much wrong with your technique. This looks like a very comfy chair to me:D You got some nice textures and good tonal work in this one.
I can never get my drawing right first time so I always draw in pencil first. As long as you are light handed with the graphite the ink goes on top quite easily and you can easily rub out any that is showing once the ink is dry.

I don't see where it throws the piece off at all. You can see the depth of the chair from the height of the arm. Your inking technique is very nice, and I wouldn't mind sitting in that comfy charir :D

Hey PD -- this is very nice. I see what you mean about the arm, but this is very well-rendered. As Sassy said -- it looks comfy!
wonderful!! nothing wrong with this at all... you've improved greatly and it was well worth seeing this!

thanks you guys,
i was concerned about the depth coming through... i feel im getting a lil better but still find it difficult to show tone without making it all way to black, so in time i guess ;)
you're doing great in ink PD.. keep posting!!
Hey PD.. just posted another acrylic piece, though it looks flat and i think i could have done better.. have you any more sketches to impress us with here??? :D
