Any and all comments welcome. I have one question, does the painting work as a finished piece at this stage?

I like it and think it looks finished ..but of course I think that a lot until I see the "real" finished pieces.

I love the close up affect. The belly button seems a bit big and the belly a bit dark but maybe that is just me..

Great job!

i also have to agree with beauty.. on the belly button size... but the general effect of the piece is well.done. was the torso area intended to be like that?.....

Yes, The torso was intended to be like that, there was a slight skewing of the hips. Remember it is still in the under-painting stage so the shadow lines are fairly harsh.

I agree with the others on the belly button issue...other than that, looks done to me. Nice work!

I just went and looked at the photos of your 2003 paintings. Have you really done them all this year?
They're wonderful!

Some are last years and a couple I started last year but finished in 03. I always have a couple going at one time that way I can step back and it tempers my impatience. The truth is I am not a fast painter.

This is coming along very well. I've looked at this a couple times now. We work much differently and I've learned a couple things.

Excellent contrast - hard to do with skin tones. Composition is working for me. Be sure to post the finished version in this thread or a new one with this picture attached and any other progress pictures.

Ah, yes, the tan.......but it would have to be artificial. Must remember the SPF!

agreed!
but, since you said "not finished yet"
I keep coming back to see your next posting of it.

love the piece
it all flows so well
love the perspective
and selection of view

body great!
don't want the tan...
don't want "leather" for skin when older
the (so called) "look" of beauty when young
sacrifices aging beautifully

That's quite a tan...time for you to turn her over and make a new painting...LOL. I like it. It's got individuality in style!

Here is an update for "white bikini", decided not to leave as is. Still has a way to go yet. Any comments would be appreciated. Sorry about the picture camera is in shop.
