Hi there,

Anybody know of any Low residency MFA programs ? Or have attended any ? What was your experience - would you recommend it ?

Yes I do--a friend from California (I'm sorry, I've lost touch with her since relocating here in '97 and can't provide any personal information on her). However, she went through the program while living in Santa Cruz and got her MFA as a sculptor I believe.
She taught art in public schools and was able to get to Vermont during summer recess.

I helped her do her MFA show--she showed small sculptured figures (like mini Egyptian mummies in little coffins) that were lit from behind with neon tubes that I made for her. they were very nice; professional and unique.

Best thing for you to do is get in touch with the school and if it seems right go up there for a visit--Vermont's heaven in spring and summer. Maple sugar candy after all.
