View Full Version : Red Squirrel WIP- Watercolour

I am a relative beginner and would welcome suggestions as to how I might progress the attached painting which is in watercolour 9"x12". I would particularly like some advice on complementary background colours I could use, to offset the red of the squirrel and especially the left hand side of the painting.
I am also unsure how to develop the bushy tail, which is light coloured, against a darker ccolour. Would this be achieved by negative painting?

Any other comments would be appreciated.
