A left over piece of paper turned into this card. The dark bg is mostly Alizarin Crimson and Viridian to make a black. As usual I fiddled with it too much. I tried to leave the lily itself alone before I turned it into mud. Any comments graciously accepted. Thanks for taking a look.

This looks a lot bigger here than in real life!

If I were the recipient of such a beautiful card, I would be honoured! From the PABG (paranoid about backgrounds) Lady, I have to tell you that I love the dark mix you used. Your lily really doesn't look overworked...

Thanks artmom, CharM, Jan, Bill and Rod for your positive comments and a special thanks to ArthurG for the lovely photo from the RIL. Sorry, I'd almost forgotten where I got the photo. I tried to do it before and it flopped. This one is a definite improvement.

Lovely Calla Lily, such beautiful flowers!!! The background comes across as almost dark brown on my monitor, if this is so in reality I would add a bit of Winsor blue here and there to freshen it up a bit.

Mmmm, almost metaphorically beautiful, rising up from the darkness and glowing in the light. Would be perfect for someone going through a tough patch, though I'll bet it gets framed.
