Hi, I'm new to the WC forum and am interested in all the help I can get as far as fur and feather techniques for both acrylic and pastel as well. I have been working in graphite and colored pencil lately as well. Not sure how to use the forums here so would appreciate any help you can give me.

welcome to A&W forum Spainh. We have many many lovely people in here that are great at helping and will answer any questions you want to ask.
For oils we have online art AKA Jason to watch for , he has a CD on fur. Evartpat is another with CP's , and David Dowbyhuz oils again. Stirling is another gosh so many great ones in here but those are a few to look for.

Sadly, Stirling passed away not long ago.

Welcome! You will find lots of resources. I have been on here for a couple of months and I keep discovering little nooks and crannies with how-to's and tutorials that are dating back as far as 04.
I know this isn't your medium but maybe you can glean some information from this lesson on fur in watercolor that is going on this month! Check it out. (http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1068742)
I love doing animals but the fur can be oh-so challenging! Good Luck.

A warm welcome from me too. You will find lots of help and encouragement. The Acrylics Forum has a great Classroom where there are several lessons in fur and feathers. Just click on Classroom and you will find them. Have fun and I look forward to your work.

Here's a link (http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=958609&highlight=stirling) to a post from Yorky, which includes a link to the Garden of Memories.
Welcome - I love this "place" and I'm sure you will, too. Stirling was a great artist, and you can still check out his paintings.
There is so much content her you could spend a year looking at it all. Just explore!!
I, too, like animals, but find them quite challenging, to say the least.
