I'm new to watercolors, but wanted to jump in and post something.
I still need to fill in more greenery and add more darks to the lillies.

Welcome Zee... You'll find this is a great place to learn... It looks like you have a jump start with this painting... It's a lovely composition and I really like the purple shading in your blooms...

Welcome to WC!
Your lillies are painted wonderfully....I am really impressed with the whites you managed to leave and depth you have created, especially as a newbie to watercolour.
Looking forward to seeing more of your work!

This is looking wonderful. If you're really "new to watercolour" then I am seriously depressed! I especially like the shadow areas - they really highlight the whites. Don't go adding too much more greenery - I like it as it is!

Wow, thank you so much everyone. I really appreciate everyone's feedback and the help correcting the lightness. When I took the picture with the flash on, it washed out the painting too much, and I don't have a great photo editing program yet, so it was hard to adjust the darkness.
I have my art class tonight, and hope to continue to work on this. I definitely want to add more greens, and am not sure whether to add a background or not.
If anyone does have a program where you can experiment with putting background color in, can you suggest what color might look good?
I hate when I start a painting and stop... I'm always so afraid to start up again for fear of ruining it. Guess the more practice the better.
Anyway, thank you all for your encouragement. ~Zee
