Sarah... there wasn't anything wrong with it before... Your changes look good, too...

Sarah of course nothing was wrong with it before! Background looks like marble now, is that what you wanted?

I keep meaning to ask you something. I noticed you always paint to the edge of the paper, does that make it difficult for your framer to mount the work? And do you lose any part of the painting under the mat?

hi Ruth :)
i just felt like something was missing in the painting-the BG that is.
the wavy lines were painted from a picture i have from being underwater. i took the picture in Bermuda of some fish so i followed that example. i like it better now, with the wavy lines. i guess that is what i wanted:)
thanks CharM

oops, i forgot
the man who does my framing was my high school art teacher:D
he doesn't mind that i have the bad habit of painting to the edge. what he yells at me about is not signing the painting high enough!
when he mats the work, he really does not loose much of the painting at all. he keeps the border tight for me. he is getting used to it :p

Sarah, it's wonderful! The background reminds me of the way the water looked when I snorkled in Hawaii.

I like it with the wavy lines. The fish are beautiful -they don't look anything like the boring gray guppies I remember from childhood fish tanks. Yours are colorful, exciting and have character. I was wondering about your getting so close to the edge of the paper too. If your framer cuts it really tight though, I'll bet it looks really great that way.

thanks Michelle :) i thought the wavy lines would be fun and add a little more to the painting. i just could not get it framed unless it had something else. a lot of times, i finish a painting then look at it the next day. i hate to overwork paintings but i was sure it needed something else.
oh wow! i bet that was fun in Hawaii! i love to snorkle!
thanks Jim :)
thanks Bethany:)

Sarah, I liked it before and I like it now!! But I know, YOU know what you have envisioned and have to go by it.

By the way, I too paint right to the edge and have several paintings signed twice because I signed too low the first time HA!.
