Hi deb,
I have my first show coming up next weekend and was wondering the same thing as I really was not big on the grey and black flocked plastic cards...so I went and got a couple interesting rubbers stamps and some letter stamps and ink and some small 1lber things of scrap paper from hobby lobby and made up my own cards....Here is how they came out the small ones anyway...I only put my bus name on a few as I got tired of stamping them all letter by letter hehe but when I get a stamp made I will stamp the name on as well...Oh I also got a little tiny punch to punch the holes and with these you can make them so they can hang and do all sorts of things to make them decorative...this is just what I chose to do....

I like Rio Grande's tri-fold clear acrylic display piece for earrings. It holds a lot, is quite stable, folds flat for storage and not too expensive. I don't have my catalog available now to scan a pic. Go to www.riogrande.com.

just thought i would share with you a little advice i adapted and made good. cindy from laughing glass beads told me about these little plastic holders for business cards you can use to display your jewelry and i just designed a nice business card on my publisher program and attatch my earrings pendants, and loose beads to them. they contain my pertinent information and people end up with my business card too........they really do look very cool........just thought i would pass that along in case anyone else was struggling on a way to display/attatch jewelry to something.

Deb, you are killing us, here. PICTURES, GIRL, Pictures!!! CC
I'm eagerly following this thread, as I have my first art fair coming up and still have no plan for displaying my work.
I need a table dresser. You know, like a set dresser in the theatre. LOL!

Tink........ when is the Old West End Festival? That's what you are doing aren't you? I'll come cheer you on!!!

Lois, Nile is not online! I just looked at their catalogue and their toll free number is 800-754-1300. They are way cheaper on things than Rio is, but Rio has much more of a selection.
Cindy, I know what you're talking about now, Rio has those also in different sizes.

brought the camera home from work tonight to see if i could show you guys what i did with the business card but the batteries are dead and i forgot the CD that hooks it up to the computer......im the woman that cant program my digital clock!
i didnt use a business card holder i just made the business card lengthwise and poked two holes in it for the earrings to hang through........the pendants i attatched with some covered wire i got at hobby lobby and twisted it on the back same for the loose beads bracelets i figure wont work that way because people need to try them on....i will try to remember everything for tomorrow night so i can show you but i wouldnt get too excited, nothing to write home about, although i like them because you hand out a business card along with your item..........
sorry gals not for lack of trying

ok the camera isnt working.......im sure its just me
anyway i thought i would share a little with you guys what i came up with for my friends shop........she has a great shi shi coffee shop and she really wanted to put some of my stuff there....she is going to sell it for me no commission this summer because i painted a four foot by four foot mural for her anyway
the counter she was going to put them on is crowded but she wanted them prominently displayed......soooooooooo
i went to garage sales today and bought some nicer 8X10 pic frames for fifty cents each......... i took them apart and painted the frames i sponge painted three different colors with the final color being a luster metallic looking craft paint then i got some styrofoam and cut it to fit inside the size of the glass, ...........i covered that foam with black velvet i glued some glass pebbles to the frame over the paint and then glued the velvet covered foam onto the glass in the frame.
so now i have a cool frame with a raised velvet foam to which i pinned groups of earrings on one and bracelets on another. i was able to get 25 pairs of earrings on one and ten bracelets on the other i used these pearly colored long dress makers pins to apply the jewelry i put business cards and a little bio/lampworking description there for people to read/take/share whatever.......they really do look cool........alot of stuff in a small and visible yet not too accessible area........just an idea i thought i would share......since i thought it turned out really cool..........
wish i had a picture but it isnt too hard to imagine huh?

Hi, i just had a jewelry open house and I was rather pleased with my earring display. I bought one of those barn wood frames 24" by 24" from Michaels with one of their 50% off coupons they always have in the sunday paper. It cost about 15.00. Then I went to a glass store that does screens and they made a screen that fit perfectly in the frame like a picture would. It cost about 5.00. I just hang my earrings( they are french wire) through the holes in the screen. You can hang ALOT of earrings that way. When someone buys them I put them through one of my business cards that I have poked holes in. I have the frame on a picture stand that I already had, so that it stands up.
