OH I LOVE IT!!!!!!!! (background included!)

Just add shadow on ground (guessing all feet are off ground at the moment, shadow would reinforce that)

Exciting!

When this opened I thought the horse was heading straight at me... SO much movement!

I like the background as is, too, since it adds to the excitement.

Wonder whether the body of the horse does not need a bit more shading to make it more 3D... but then I know nothing about horses so I am likely yo be wrong about that

Great job on portraying motion. He does look a little like he is floating - you need to "ground" him somehow. And there is something a little off about the tail, I can't quite put my finger on it. But the horse is beautifully painted, and he looks like he is coming right off the page at me. Good job.

Long time, no see!

It is lovely to see a painting from you again. Especially a horse painting. It is just perfect.
No grounding needed.

Karen,

I guess I'm the only one who is bothered by the background. I love the colors, but the upper part of the background, to me, competes too much with the horse. The sharp angles distract me from your incredible horse.
I find the foreground pleasing. It really adds to the motion of the horse.

Regards,

Joni

Wow... I love the background... I love the power in your muscle development... I don't think he needs to be grounded at all... I am a little distracted by his facial markings... It looks a tad lopsided to me... I am pretty tired after a long workday, though...

I came back to look at this again because it is such a wonderful painting - I think you should enter it in some watercolor society art show.

Love it as it is!!!

Maybe it does need to be grounded, perhaps with shadows as suggested. But be careful - don't want to lose the beauty of the vivid clean colors. If it were me, I wouldn't change it.

Tail looks fine to me.

Background is fantastic - don't change it.

Was it serendipitous that the green background patch on horse's right looks like a wing? Makes it almost look like Pegasus, which adds some mystery to the work.

Fantastic job!

My very first thought was WOW, what a beautifully vibrant horse, my secondthought that followed the first one a split second later was "must be a mythological horse". Then I looked more and realized that the green wing was not a wing but the background.

So, LOVE the horse, green wing is confusing.
