Which ever you decide on will be done in Acrylics...

I feel Like do a large painting for the first time... The canvas I plan on using is 16" by 20"... I have never painted any thing this large before so it will be a challenge! and of course I will do a WIP!

I appreciate you guys helpping me decide! I have been trying to decide for three days now and truly can't make up my mind!!

This is my chioce simply because of the muscle structure, shimmer of light and movement.
Go for it!!!!:D

I really like #2 best. I am drawn to the motion and freedom of a huge, strong animal.
If not 2, then 7 or 8.
Really don't like the shots where the horse is just standing there.

And the most popular so far #8.

I think he is the hardest one!! You guys just want to see me sweat alittle HUH???

I have been avoiding doing him just because he presents such a challenge!:p

Okay, I vote for #8 IF you continue the mane up the neck further to the ears. It looks strange to just have the mane poking up in the middle of the neck.

Having been through the mill and back already, I might throw in a note of caution about some of those very professional looking photos. While the horse owner may "have" them, whoever took the photos owns copyright, and depending on who the photographer was, they might not like it being painted without their permission, so always be sure to ask the owner that you've got the ok of the photographer to paint something from their photos. :)

I love the action shots too. Especially if you're planning a large piece. #2 and #8

Brooke, believe it or not, that's how some show horses are clipped these days. The bridle path has become a half-neck path. hehehe If it's a commission piece, they might not like the whole mane in. It would be a personal preference of the owner I suppose. :)

Brooke,

Yea I agree he looks funny with that hair cut!! LOL
But yea it is a commision so I have to follow what I see for the most part! Thanks for the help!! It looks as if I will end up doing him!

Sherri,

Yea, those dare copyright laws!! LOL:rolleyes:
But be assured that I have gotten full rights to all the referance photos!! I did that right off the bat when they where sent to me. I asked the owners to contact the Photographers and get written permission and send it to me! So all base securly covered there! Thank you for looking out for me though!! Your the best!

Oh Christina, you don't make this easy for us do you? ;) :D
Now it is down to 3 choices. Well I guess I like #8 the best over all. They only thing I would fix on this one is his tail. It looks like a "bun" on his butt. I would like to see his tail flowing in the wind. As for the mane, this is typical for the Arabian breed.
Enjoy painting this one! :D And don't forget to show us your WIP.

I think you should go for number nine. Oh...err there isn't one is there so forget that then! It will be to easy!!:D

I still think number 8 is the one I'd choose. Well it's down to you now, whatever you choose will I sure come out great.
