Here Is my row of poplars with the shadows darkened as you suggested Murray.. Better do you think? I do, so thanks for the helpful hint. They do stand out more..

You've done a great job darkening the shadows Miggles!! It does make those trees stand out more and also let's the viewer see the strong sunlight between the shadows, giving it more depth. Looks AWESOME!! :D:)

Miggles- I just love your washes. Your technique is great. So true to real life form. I think I mentioned this before, I am jealous.

Thankyou Danny , Bob,Rapolina ,Murray and all you other generous encouragers. I've just found my way back here ... do any others of you get as lost as I do?.. have now cliked to save in my favourites so shouldnt get lost again... This was a lovely view just outside our bedroom when on holiday.. Normally I wouldnt be taken with a row of trees( I enjoy specimens, or contrasting tree shapes) but was relaxing and the rustling of the poplars leaves caught my attention then I noticed the trunks and had to get my pen...:) The autumn sunshine was warm and helped me relax. I wished I had my paints with me to do them in colour.
