Wow! this is luscious! You can feel the sand and smell the salt air. The colors are just right. Very well done.

this is the value of a million cheers as the buss gets to the park. Debth of the beach and color balance of the water along with some great kids really makes this a nice work. Wave detail is fine although perhaps adding another in the middle would bind the white foam and deep blue wave in the background.

have fun,

like the variations you've got for the limited palette.
loosness of figure in yellow shorts really good, person in sea needs some arm length adjustment, nice diagonal happening, maybe darkness of sand could have been left to the bottom left and not extended so far up?
did you paint over something else or is it the ground texture?works tho.
perhaps right arm of bending figure needs some adjustment because it appears as if the shoulder has dropped a bit far.
beautiful light

Very appreciative of all the comments...glad you're liking this.:D

bocote, I actually subdued the water as the painting progressed. I wanted the attention to be on the figures.

taffeta, could you explain more specifically about the arm? The shoulder drop still looks right to me...the arm length, too...maybe the thickness of the arm needs slimming.

Cath...I hope more

something like this?
mind you, i'm probably being really pedantic about it, it isn't that important.

taffeta, totally thought you were talking about the figure at the water's edge. ..that is what I was addressing.

pam, bocote...thank you both!

... but the wave action isn't feasible. It's more reminiscent of being above the clouds than at the beach. I also don't see a unique style. The coloration and the brush strokes have been well chosen. I appreciate the depth you have in the beach which draws the viewer down with the small one and in doing so I found myself as curious and apprehensive as she. Kids are always a good subject. Great theme. -Harry
