Lovely view of a very picturesque town. As many have mentioned before the textures are superbly rendered and so are the light changes in the tunnel and beyond :)

Hello Claire,

You've done a wonderful job on this. The composition leads the eye into the painting through the arches. The people add interest and your stones are terrific. Very nice painting. What is its size?

I sat here forever trying to figure out if that was the reference picture or the painting. Very very nice... I really like that plant in the foreground, something about it just makes me gaga... :D

WOW!....Amazing stonework!
The people bother me for some reason, maybe it's to so with the shadows as Pampe suggested?
Maybe you could share a WIP on stonework with us??...Hint Hint! LOL!........I'd hurry too before Astur kills someone! ROFL!

Thank you for your comments. I am very surprise and happy for all that was said.
Your comments give me confidence to carry on.

In the last 4 weeks, I took lessons from a new professor.

I was inspired by two pictures I took in France last year.

Excellent, Claire, and nice to see you.
Fabulous Stonework and tunnel perspective importance of this work, people just there to slow down the journey keeping eye in frame longer...works for me. Your skill with flowers evidenced by plant. Excellent tonal composition to begin journey slowly.

This is sooo real! The stains on the bricks and the stones on the sides of the walk....I can almost smell a bit of dampness coming from the tunnel.
