MY COMMENTS:
this is a painting of a brownfield in the town where i live. apparently, some radioactive material left over from WWII is still being housed there. there are a lot of ongoing lawsuits from past workers. it is an interesting looking building. i planted the sign there. i know it is kind of fuzzy in this pic, but it reads, "Absolutely NO dumping or littering. $500 fine"

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
this is hanging in my first show. it is also the biggest canvas that i have worked on and it was a lot of fun to paint. i learned a lot in the process, about mixing colors and composition.

i'd be interested to know your thoughts and critiques.

thanks everyone.

jw opinion->better without the sign,
the slight arc of the wires, and the greater arc of the rooves (nice connecting elements, are broken by the sign's squareness. also a poetic poignance is developed with the sky and the barns, this is diminished by the prosaic sign.
just the word brownfield might be enough on a plaque below, maybe an explanation about the sad legacy.
