I posted this awhile back as work in progress. Well I ruined the background on the 1st one. I think this one turned out much better. I am proud of the candel light glow on her skin. This will be in our student art show in June. Thinking of making some prints to sell to local day spas. Comments welcome :D :

This is a beautiful painting. Great skin. Sorry to hear the background didn't turn out the way you like on the first one. Good luck in the show.

Thank you you so much for your nice comments Patty, JoAnn, Fun2Cook, fookie , Char and Lyn.
This was so much fun. The first time doing a person. Now I am not scared to do from the neck down. Gotta work on the neckup thing:(
She is 22x30 on 300lb Fabriano.
Picked out a gaudy heavy black with gold trim frame

Love the glow on the skin, Very good brushwork as well.
Don't know if its just me, Maybe others can comment on what they think,
But the first thing that grabed my eye was the head,
I think it looks a little small in proportion to the rest of the body.
the neck is fine, only the head worrys me a bit.

This is beautifully painted—the skin texture and glow is lovely, and the shadows that model her curves and shoulder blades are just right. The red cloth looks soft like velvet and sets off her skin very nicely. I like the negative spaces between her arms and body and around her face and hair a lot too. Very nice painting.

This is beautiful and you should be proud of the candle glow and the excellent way you've done the draped fabric.
I tend to agree with Phillip, but I'm not sure if it's the proportion of the head (since she's looking down to right) as much as I'd expect to see hair before travelling that far up the neck. As long as we're talking "sensual"--I think some dark hair that being pulled down across the back of her neck over her left shoulder would be great...kind of continuing the curve of the fabric.
Time for a cold shower...

Thank you all, Surreal, Pl_kpprt, Sylvia, Irene Phillip and Darren, for your wonderful comments:)
Phillip and Darren -I think it is the position of the head that makes you think that it is small. Your basically just viewing from her right upper cheek down and her head is lowered to her chest also.
Darren- there are a few whispy tenderils of hair around the nape of the neck that don't show.;)
I hope manny men get that cold shower feeling and many women will feel their own senuality when they view this piece.
Thanks so much for all your comments...It's the only way to learn and grow:D
