I painted the Two Flamingos in oils on a 20x24 inch canvas. I used the pic submitted by Lady Carol in the wet canvas image library as my reference. Many thanks to her and others who provide us with such great resources to paint from.

Thanks to all of you for your encouraging and nice comments on my flamingos painting. I started this painting a couple of months prior to going into surgery and finally finished it about 5 weeks afterwards. Your comments have inspired me greatly. Much appreciated.

These are beautiful - we see them on the lakes here and they are just a beautiful colour.

Many Thanks Karen. You are fortunate to have flamingos in the wild close by. We don't have them here in South Texas, but we do have the Roseate Spoonbills which are also a unique pink bird.

Thanks Pat, ReverseEngineering, and Robert for your uplifting comments. The water and the reflections were the most time consuming, but came together during the final stages to check for errors and soften edges. I turned the painting upside down several times to see the flamingos actually shape out through the rippling effects of water and light.
