This is a 9" x 12" acrylic on canvas. I am thinking of doing pastel on top of this acrylic painting...please critique...*SMILE*

There is something stagnant about this composition... perhaps pastels will loosen the whole thing up? A large opening between the flowers and something visible beyond windows might open this up and draw the viewer in???

the placement of the window,
and the heighth of the flowers on the canvas are nice
the colors work nicely
if you do proceed, you might consider carrying more hint of the blues and purples down into the wall, perhaps in the shadows
and carrying some of the green and red up or back into the window,
perhaps reflections
i don't think these are needed, but you might like it

Jeanine...for some reason this digital picture made this painting look rather flat. In the original there are more subtle variations...especially in the wall. Maybe it is TOO subtle...*laugh* not sure what I could put in the window...I don't think reflections would work...but then it might.

Thanks TeAnne!

dornberg...The blues and purple shadows are not showing up too well...but I think I could add more. Thank you for the comments.
