MY COMMENTS:
finally finished the fungus to go along with the leaves painting. digital image is very washed out. Paint is thick. Background is primarily deep reds, violet, and umber. Composition is intentionally somewhat repetitious and I tried to make no great distinction on any certain item as I want the viewer to relate to the forms with their own interpretations. painted from a photo in reference section.

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
Any critique is welcome. I can take brutal punishment. Of course likes and support is appreciated too.

Looks really nice, the only thing I would fix is the mushroom near the top, fourth one over, looks like a tic-tac-toe board on it. :D Lorijo

I tried to make no great distinction on any certain item as I want the viewer to relate to the forms with their own interpretations.

.. that works .. this is a piece that will change with the changing light in a room .. so many things one can shape by connecting the shapes .. at first glance I can see a school of minnows swimming around in a shallow pond ..

PS .. wish I had your patience or even some of it .. :D

thanks Lorijo, pero, and Wayne.

Wayne: I'm not more or less patient than you or anyone else I bet. One thing that helps me is not needing to make a living on art and setting reasonable goals and taking it one mushroom at a time. Took about 30-40 hours to paint this over a couple weeks. Its very hard for me to sit down and paint for more than 2 hours straight; I just dont have the attention span.

Lorijo: It does indeed look like a checker board and it was totally unintentional and a most welcome casus. I refered back to the reference picture and that fungi did not have that pattern. I go first!

For shame! How low can you get, cheating on tic-tac-toe! Oh well, I will survive. You have fun too, Lorijo:angel:
