The last pastel post for today...*SMILE*...critiques and comments welcomed! 9" x 12" pastel on pastel paper. I am enjoying messing around with the chalk today.

it is more connected with nature than it seems. The blue electric energy is very strong like the creation of lightning.

Nice composition Bev, http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif First impression when it opened was a grass fire and smoke (The clouds) Then I had to bash myself around the head and tell myself that it would have orange in it for grass fire. http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/evilgrin.gif

The composition is excellent. The mountain range is awsome!!! Cool effects with the bright colors -- you are naturally inclined to bright and are dangerous to leave alone with pastels withou supervision. I think the bright blue needs breaking up and I also think the hazy out of focus effect starts too early in the middle distance.

Lovely though. This medium is definitely suited to your style.

Jerry, Teanne and Impulse...thank you for your comments. This pastel has some definite problems. *laugh* I do like my mountains. I was using an older set of pastels that were limited in colors.

I have liked your mountains too, but they seem so far away.

Jerry...you are right...I need something that is midway that can put both fore and back ground in perspective. Ideas?

Now, now, kids! Play nice! lol...
I am a big fan of heather, and believe magenta might be a better way to go for the blooms, fading to softer/bluer color going back. Just my 2 cents...
