Hello Sonja,

Your painting of an infant in the womb is exquisite. You've used beautiful soft tones to convey the little miracle of a baby being readied for birth.

Welcome back, we are glad you have some time to spend here with us again.

Breathtaking. This is what I would do with watercolour if I could.

Missed you! Like your flowers in the other post, so little time so doubling up replies.

Sonja:

I really cant find a word to type what I am feeling seeing this painting. It belongs in a Gallery somewhere. . It will stir emotion within every Mom and Dad who has experienced pregnancy and childbirth.

You have depicted the translucence and fraility of the unborn child.

It is absolutely beautiful.

"For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
Your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me were written in Your book
before one of them came to be."

- Psalm 139:13-16

Hope you don't mind, but that's exactly what came to my mind when I saw your absolutely stunning painting.:clap:

Absolutly beautiful rendering of a new life growing. I recieved an ultrasound picture the other day of my new grandchild that will be born around Sept. My oldest daughter has been married for 19 years and is having her first baby. I'm happy to say everything is A-OK.
The miricle of birth is a truly amazing event. I know because I had three of them.

I am a labor and delivery nurse! This painting is absolutely awesome. I can think of many Dr.s that would love to have this on their walls. What did you use as a reference image? I have an idea for a pregnancy painting something like this but showing the mom's belly. Again I am in awe.

Wow. :clap: :clap:

Don't know if this is what you intended, but it's a powerful anti-abortion statement, as it depicts the unborn child as fully human.

Wow. :D
