Dromaeosaurus Dinosaur 7"X10"

Please note that if you look up these dinosaurs you will find various interpretations of coloration because this is just conjecture.

These are really lively given that you only used sculptures as references. Perhaps you should post them in fantasy section too.

Thank you Sandra and Barb,

I'm happy you enjoyed my Dinos, they looked so alive in the Florida jungle here and being life sized made it even more real. Great idea Sandra, I'll pop over to fantasy and share them too.

Here are two more Dinos I painted from life

Saltasaurus Dinosaur

the blue small dinos, the Tanystropheus in the ferns with the fierce Ceratosaurus approaching in the distance.

It makes me laugh to say I painted these Dinosaurs, en plein air, from life, but I really did! :)

Here is the link to Dinosaur World, (http://www.dinosaurworld.com/) they have a park in Texas, Kentucky, and Florida.

I have some drawings my daughter did and several photos from Dinosaur World you may enjoy, on my blog here (http://aleadasiragusa.blogspot.com/2012/02/mother-daughter-dinosaur-paint-out.html)

Each holds much intrigue and interest. Can't choose a favorite, so well done, the backgrounds are amazing and add so much to the subjects. Great work

Thank you Karen, I abstracted the backgrounds so much, I took cues from what was there, just a few of the bushes and trees but painting it was more feeling. I think of abstraction like jazz, where you get to free yourself and just play with feeling. Colors are like musical notes, I think.

I want to share this information with the group also.

I recently bought, Color and Light by James Gurney, creator of Dinotopia, it is a great book on color, light, and paints. He has a daily blog with all sorts of interesting and useful information.

Great interpretations...love the colors and looseness. Pet peeve of mine is... hate looking at art with a copyright branding on it. but it still a great piece

Thank you George, for the fine comments, it is so much appreciated.

My pet peeve is people stealing other people's art on the internet and using it for their own profit. I know many artists prevent this by posting very small images. I would rather embed a copyright and my web address on my image. I see that many galleries also do this.

Consider Deviant Art (http://www.deviantart.com/), a Chinese company pulled a bunch of their artists images and are selling them as prints and there is nothing anyone can do about this because the Chinese government does not agree to honor USA or European copyright laws. Other individuals and groups are stealing art also. It's our responsibility to protect ourselves. It is hard enough to make money in the field, do we also have to give our art away to anyone who wants to steal?

Thank you Robert,

It does seem my Dinosaurs are a hit! It is great that Dinosaurs are loved and remembered, I enjoy sharing my love of them with others.
