Painting in two seasons. Opinions -which would be better to pursue further?

My initial gut response was the autumn theme. I guess because I like the oranges in the background and the way they contrast with the blues of the child's clothes; Also I like Autumn in general : )

Either is nice though

I am such a stinker.
please put back the reference door and pot etc.: maybe tilt angles a bit to make them a little less static, but IMHO they are much more intersting than the bush in either fall or summer filters they are equal players to the boy and dog and other sentient creatures.

i think the green background fits better with the blue and yellow

the red background tends to overwhelm the maim objects
but it could work if more red was seen in the foreground and/or main objects
the employment of darks and lights in patterns could place the objects where you want them if there is an overwhelming red

Agree with Jerry.
With the bushes only, it looks like they are in the middle of an somewhat empty garden. Why are they sitting there? Looks like an arranged photo (IMO the reference photo looks much more interesting).

Sorry.

Loving the summer! Especially with boy in short sleeves... (I'd want him to put a sweater on if it where autumn...)
