Every once on a while I like to wander to this forum....
13" x 19" Fabriano #300 Hot Press.
All comments welcome....especially the constructive kind.
Didn't want to do too much detail on the fence post....most of the snow on his head is gouache....not my fav....but the miskit didn't do any good.

I think the horse is really good. The snow, to me doesn't really look like snow until I read your intro. Maybe if you made b/g bluer and then added snow flakes it would read better. And the post it stands out too much, maybe add some sienna and leave the white more on top. This is just my humble opinion. lol.

I agree with both of your comments. I went a little too lightly with the b/g wash and the lightly sprayed water didn't show.
I really didn't want to the fence to compete with the horse.....

I love the high contrast of the snow and the deep bay horse - takes me back to the days of my uncle's ranch. Thanks for the memories, I absolutely LOVE this piece. Fantastic!
