The flowers are beautiful, so frsh looking and I love the white flowers in the arrangement!
IMHO, the book looks like it's about to slide off the table......Railings in the background add a nice touch!

Very nice! Is this a scan--it seems a little dark!

I agree about the book.

Thanks for sharing.

Actually, I find the book distracting... The flowers, vase and teacup are absolutely beautiful... The book does not appear to be part of that grouping... Sorry...

Wonderful flowwers and tea cup. I agree about the book. I would suggest a crop and rub out.

Anita, fun2cook, Joann, Char and Lyn thanks for looking
and commenting.
Your remarks on the book were very valuable.
Indeed, the book is too isolated, it's not connected with the
other items of the painting.
Next time I'll pay more attention to the overall composition.

Welcome back with another painting. I see the workshop's influence on the work out of the flowers ... good ! Agree somewhat about the comment on the book ... Keep it up Paula !

Hi Paula,
apart from what has already been mentioned, I feel the vase is too close to the edge of the table. It makes me feel a little uneasy. I'm worried it may get pushed off.

Hello Paula,

Nice to see one of your paintings again. Your bouguet is filled with wonderful spring flowers, nicely composed and painted. I like the suggestion of a railing in shadow across the back of the painting.

Perhaps you could add something between the vase and the book to bring the book into the arrangement more.

NIce work on the flowers :)
The book does not bother me at all--though it's not overlapping with the other objects I think the colors keep it together and it balances the other objects.
The vase and cup being on the very edge, though, do look a bit distrubing though. I keep wanting to move them over so they don't fall...

I'm a newbie but usually when I sit down to have a cup of tea there is always at least one book on the table so things look natural to me in the pic. The flowers are georgious
