Here's a quick one, 5x7 scratchboard, all fibreglass brush and steel wool except the whiskers which were done with a craft knife so it went quite fast. I started with a very simple freehand sketch and then into it with the brush. It's from one of my own references and just meant as a bit of fun but also an effort to pull me out of my African dominance. After all, Australia has some very cool animals.

I've added an out of focus background just for context.

I love it. You can almost feel the thick softness of the fur!

Thanks guys. When I'm out with my camera, I often try to get animals to come and inspect it at close quarters to get these distorted views. I'm glad this one worked :)

Wow, that's an incredible image, Patrick - the perspective/view is priceless, and your bg effect really just tops it all off/completes it perfectly. Really brilliant work!! What a hoot!

Another distinctive Hedges in the world! Each reveal is like a birth, Pat. Bravo!

Your work is the only of its kind that constantly get me thinking of trying scratch-board, so stop it! I don't have the time! ;)

Best,
Dave

I would like to pet it. However, I will keep my hands to myself. ;) What a great drawing. Very realistic.
